Oliver Lewis works at the intersection of technology, popular culture and politics and invests in innovative entertainment technologies. He was a senior executive in two technology ‘unicorns’, a British senior civil servant, a university researcher, and a civilian intelligence officer.
Oliver cofounded defence technology unicorn Rebellion Defense, started the government business for metaverse technology unicorn Improbable, and spent a year as a venture capitalist. He was deputy director of the digital, data and technology profession in the British civil service. As a civilian intelligence officer embedded in the British Army, he was an advisor to two commanders of Task Force Helmand. For a decade he was affiliated with the Changing Character of War Centre at the University of Oxford and cofounded the book series, Routledge Advances in Defence Studies. He remains a non-resident senior visiting fellow at the Center on Public Diplomacy of the University of Southern California and an honorary associate research fellow at the Strategy & Security Institute of the University of Exeter.
